1 HYUNJIN (STRAYKIDS)
Song: SAM TINNESZ – PLAY WITH FIRE (ft. Yacht Money)
A lot of people never thought of this song for my top5 lists, but I found the song because of my favorite group called STRAYKIDS. About 1.5 year ago Hyunjin was called to have a HIATUS. Because of things of his past… During the Hiatus StrayKids was in the competition show called: Kingdom: Legendary war. When you need to miss one of your greatest performers it’s really hard for a group. Because of his Hiatus he could not join the group in ANY PROMOTION or show… Hyunjin did Practice a lot during the time he couldn’t be with the group and when he came back with the song MIXTAPE: OH
All the fans where shocked by his upgraded visuals and his passion for art. A lot of people don’t know at the end of the video the STRAYKIDS LOGO (normally it’s in Bangchan handwriting) was written with the handwriting of Hyunjin for this video! The fans didn’t know his hiatus was over so they where shocked when they saw him in the video!!! (some reactors where spoiled for the moment because they heard stuff about it).
I think this dance choreo, who is choreographed by Hyunjin himself is portraying him during his professional career. At first you see him as the 4th gen Prince he is. after that he had to go on hiatus so the music muffled down and he tried to go with the flow and try to still capture every beat. When the music kicks back in HE IS BACK… he is back at StrayKids and he can perform again (watch the grin on his face when he does the spin when the music is back). Its so amazing to watch. So I hope you enjoy! He also has 2 other Dance – performance projects I’m thinking of covering them in a separate post! (keep an eye out for it)
2) StrayKids – Easy
When you look at the title of this track it will show you how hard this choreo is. It’s EASY… The track is called EASY because in the lyrics they will tell you: It’s a really hard dance but WE MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY.
The song slaps and is a really fun song. The styling in the MV is amazing as well. Thinking about this song was released on their first album GO LIVE (the same album GOD’s MENU is on). It is an amazing performance of the boys with another Dance/performance video with an INCREDIBLE chaotic but hard to do start of the choreo… If you see the small fast hand and body movements and thinking about all 8 of them need to be in synch!!! I really love it that I.N. got a lot of parts in this song. And off course the amazing LEE KNOW Dance skills!!!! If you listen to the rap part of Changbin You couldn’t even count the syllables he uses, it’s so amazing fast! I really love the part at the dance break you can hear their shoes stomp the ground almost all in synch but so damn fast! Please enjoy the video!
3) ATEEZ – HALA HALA (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive) Performance version
For this one it was really hard to choose… ATEEZ are amazing dancers with sick choreographies. When I think of AMAZING ATEEZ dances this one is still imho one of the best. The beat of the music is amazing and this number is on repeat when I’m at the gym. The synchronicity of the group is mind-blowing. They make it look like their legs are just rubber bands… so flexible and amazing!
4) RYUJIN & YEJI (ITZY)
Song: BEBE REXHA – BREAK MY HEART MYSELF
When you talk about the skills of Itzy, when it comes to dance… everyone talks about Chaeryeong Yeji and Ryujin. But in my opinion all 5 girls are amazing Dancers. But when it comes to Stage presence, Ryujin and Yeji are 2 of the most amazing performers with their facial expressions. When I saw this video of the Itzy girls on Studio choom’s channel I really loved it right away… The amazing mirroring in the first part wow!!!
The video edits to give the girls a solo part is also totally amazing… and later in the song where the artist starts speaking about someone who talks about depressing stuff… you can see the fear in the eyes of Ryujin and wow it’s so damn good! The parts they do together is so damn fluidly.
5) StrayKids – Domino (dance practice)
When I have to think about my favorite dance-practice of StrayKids I really have to talk about this one. The song is called DOMINO, when people talk about DOMINO there are a few things that come to mind. Domino’s Pizza or the game with the domino tiles. What does StrayKids mean by making a song called DOMINO… The track starts with a doorbel so everyone immediately thinks it’s about DOMINO’s Pizza. Later in the song they also talk about FRANCHISE OVERPOWERED!!! In the unveil track they have a lot of scenes with pizzas in it. So you have to think it’s about Dominos pizza. When you see the Dance practice you will notice all the RIPPLE EFFECTS (like domino’s) and at one point they even form a diagonal line in the choreo and knock them self over one by one like the domino tiles… It’s so amazing to see how much ripple or domino effects you can put into a Dance performance! Besides that the song is so addicting! Please watch it and see if you agree with me!
