For my Frank Turner Journey I have to thank my good friend Roel. I met Roel in videogame called “Destiny” on the PS4, it’s a game what is better played with friends. So he asked me if I wanted to join their clan. It was the best decision I made playing that game. The clan grew to a big number of 60 players and we even had some LAN-Parties. When I met Roel for the first time we had so much in common, we where really good friends from start. Roel and I both love Music. When I told him I really wanted to go to the music festival “Lowlands” more often. He said: “I go almost every year, we have a great group of friends who doesn’t mind if you join”. So I bought a ticket and went to the festival with them. It was so nice to meet all those amazing people and have fun listening to music and sharing thoughts on new groups on the festival.
Because Roel has a lot of interest in music we normally ask him what artist we really need to see! A few years ago he told me just to go with them to an artist called Frank Turner, I would definitely like it. So we went to the Alpha-stage and it was early in the morning drinking some coffee. We saw the area in front of the stage was not really crowded so Roel asked me if I wanted to join him to stand over there. It was IMHO one of the best energetic performances that day and I was immediately hooked. Frank Turner didn’t sing all the songs really clear but everyone could see he is a PERFORMER the joy and energy he brings on stage is so great! I really wanted to see him more often live!

When I heard he performed in the Netherlands only one month after Lowlands I really hoped to score tickets, but it was sold out. It was a real bummer, then i was looking for more concerts of him. None of them where in the Netherlands. So I gave up. After about a month and listening a lot of music by him. I found out he was the supporting act of Flogging Molly an Irish band I knew a bit. So I messaged some friends and asked if they wanted to go to the concert and they said YES! We had a great evening with some bruises from all the mosh pits at the Flogging Molly part of the evening. But it was definitely word it.
In April of 2022 I got married and my Girlfriend really wanted to do an Opening Dance at our party. So she gave me the choice of the song. (of course she had to agree with my choices so it wouldn’t been to bad)
The song I picked was “photosynthesis” by Frank Turner because the songs really hits home for me. The song is about people telling you to leave your “teenage dreams” and grow up to be an adult. Of course I’m mature of age, sometimes I let the inner child out and just enjoy all the small things in live.
So we did our opening dance to the song below.
And most of all I will not grow up
