They don’t need no introduction. For the people who don’t Know them, Here is a link to their Wiki-Page. Just Kidding, Muse is a 3.5 headed band from England. The reason I say 3.5 headed… They have 3 Lead members and one support-member who plays the keys in the background when Matt is playing the guitar, or he plays the Guitar when Matt is at the piano. So on stage you mostly see 3 members, but they have one “hidden” member. When I was young I was really into Rock Music (and still up to today). For my birthday my best friend gave me a CD of a group I really needed to check out! The cd was orange by colour, it was called “Origin of Symetry”. So the day after my Birthday I put on the CD and I was hooked! The mix of “classical” piano music with “heavy” rock music was amazing!
The Album starts off with “New Born” a song with an amazing Piano intro. When you think it fades away… Matthew stands up and starts shredding his guitar with such power. I was immediately hooked! My favorite song of that album is “Citizen Erased”! When you love music and know the classic “Feeling Good” also really known for the version of Micheal Bublé. You really need to listen to the version of Muse! You do know what the songs is bringing but still muse did it with a twist. For the 2nd verse Matt takes a Megaphone and starts singing trough that. It is so really creative!
Most of the music Muse make is to open the eyes of people against capitalism or other hot topics, a lot of their songs are really relevant when they are released!
After a few months and listening to even more music of Muse, my best friend if I wanted to go to a concert of them. Of course I wanted it. So in 2006 we bought tickets and went to the Music festival in Belgium called “Rock Werchter”. Muse was one of the headliners but the power they bring on stage is unmatched. Their Live vocals are also REALLY GOOD! From that day I was even more hooked and bought every album! At this point (november 2022) I do think I saw them live for about 9 times and I do have tickets to see them in 2023!
The video under this blog is one of their legendary live performances! It’s the song called “knights of Cydonia” Live at the Rome Olympic Stadium. They did add a Western-feel to it with the Harmonica intro.
